Excellent marathon shoe

I wore these in the 2013 Boston Marathon (2:58:00) and in my tuneup races during training. I am 180 pounds, so not the lightest runner and I need some cushion. These are the perfect mix of light and sturdy, and in my opinion you can't get any lighter without sacrificing cushion. I wore them in my 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon races - they felt great in all races...and look pretty cool too. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a light but sturdy race shoe. I train in the Saucony Guide 6 (I had the Guide 4 and 5, so it has been a natural progression) and I like using the Guide for training and Fastwitch for racing, it works really well for me.

I've been very happy about how these shoes have performed over the marathon distance. My feet and toes have held up really well both times. No blisters, no pain. I wouldn't even think about wearing anything else for the marathon.
They also make a great training shoe for tempo runs and longer workouts. I've put hundreds of miles of fast running in both the FT5 and FT6 models and have never had any problems.
If you wore the Fastwitch 5, the 6th edition is a great upgrade. A little lighter, and the colors are pretty sharp too.

Bought this to run my first half-marathon. Started using it in my long runs too. Best shoe I have ever run in. Just the right amount of stability. No pains for 28 miles last weekend. Perfect shoe. Going to use it for marathon racing also. Only shoe I have that is both light and fast and loves to go long too.

Would have been a home run for me had a wide version been available. While my foot is a little wider than average, it's no flipper. This shoe will only work for those with narrow feet. It's a shame because I really think Saucony did a great job with materials / design of this shoe. Skinny feet Enjoy! Saucony- make a wide already!

Bought the Fastwitch 6 to replace my Fastwitch 5's of which I was very satisfied.
They felt immediately familiar, fit did not change.
In fact, having very narrow feet, Fastwitch is the only shoe that fits me well.
(Saucony does not make anymore narrow width shoes)
Happily Saucony did not made major changes.

Fast, light, but top is too stiff

This is my first pair of Fastwich. I used to wear Adidas AdiZero Mana but that model seems to be discontinued. Fastwich 6 feels light and fast. I will try to use it for competitive racing.
However, there are several things I don't like:
First, the top is too stiff. The Flexfilm is too stiff. For racing shoes, there is no need to add durability to the top.
Second, the size is 1 size smaller to its size. I used to wear size 9 Saucony shoes, but this one I have to wear size 10.

I too have the Adidas Adizero Mana, and am looking for a new shoe. Is the Fastwitch less cushioned? How is the cushioning and fit and stuff compared to the Mana? If you could help me out it would be a BIG help, thanks

Excellent shoe that feels light and great with a touch of stability. My only note is that I always buy running shoes a half size larger. For example my street shoe is a 8. I run in the Kinvara 3 comfortably in a 8.5. In these shoes I had to go up to a 9 to get the length I needed. My suggestion is to try a full size up from street shoes.
