Great Shoe!

I decided to change to a different brand for my second marathon and my local running shop set me up with these. From the moment I tried them on, they felt perfect. After finishing my second marathon, I beat my original best by 1 hour. Granted it wasn't all due to the shoe, but it definitely helped!

The new model is more narrow that the previous model. It was an uncomfortable fit compared to the last 5 pairs of Guides I purchased and I needed to return them.

Performs well right out of the box

Love the Guide 6. Fits very well and was very comfortable right out of the box. I moved up to Guide 6 after using up several pair of Guide 3 that I'd bought on sale. The lighter weight was very noticeable. Fits my foot very well which is remarkable because I have a narrow heel. Thanks Saucony for another great shoe!

Great running shoe

I Use This Product For: Running, Casual Wear
I've been wearing Saucony running shoes since the Guide 2's came out. I'm almost 60 years old & run 3 times a week. I love the cushioning on the heel, but what really impresses me is how light weight these shoes are. The Guide 6 is a great shoe, but the style (looks) isn't as appealing as the Guide 5. Appearance is important to me because after I run 600 miles I'll then use them as a casual shoe.

Excellent Pair of Trainers. Good bye Nike

PostedMarch 5, 2013

I've been a die hard Nike shoe wearer ever since I started running. I've had 3 pairs of the Nike Zoom Structured shoes and 3 pairs of the Lunar Glides. One pair of the Glide 3 and two if the Glide 4s.
When Nike made the glide 4s I didn't like them. The shoes began to feel dead before 300 miles and the heel to toe drop was way to high. Almost 14 mm.
Once I went to these shoes I was so happy. The 8mm drop feels much better for mid-foot striking and it makes the shoe feel less clunky. I've got 400 miles on mine and they still feel great. These are the best shoes I've had by far!

Switched "just do it" shoe user

WOW is all I have to say, the fit of this shoe is unbelievable. I am a die hard shoe user (I own 9 pairs of "just do it shoes" but was some what upset when they updated the Lunar Glide+3 to the 4 and the qaulity and fit went away, made a move to Saucony shoes based on reviews and write ups. I am just amazed with the fit, cusioning and performance of this shoe. This shoe will no dought be my new shoe of choice. Thanks for an awesome shoe.

Fantastic update!

I switched from the Asics Kayano 18 (my original marathon shoe), to the Guide 5 because I bought a pair at a deep discount. The lighter weight and 8mm heel-toe offset made me more efficient runner. However, the laces were a bit too long and the cushioning was firmer than I was used to in my Kayanos. Well, I received my new pair of Guide 6s yesterday and went for a 14 mile run (9mins/mi) on asphalt and concrete. These shoes require no break in and I was immediately impressed by the softer cushioning and improved forefoot flexibility. Support is similiar to the 5s and the laces are shorter. My legs feel great today and I have zero soreness. One of the lightest support shoes around just got better!

still great shoe, updates are meh.

i loved the guide 5s. they were the first saucony road training shoes i had ever bought. (i had some saucony trail shoes in the past.) they may have been my favorite shoe ever!
when the 6s came out, i was excited to buy another pair, especially after reading some shoe reviews saying they were going to be better than the 5s.
the 6s are still great, but i wish they didn't make some of the updates they made.
> they made the toe box a little smaller, which is sad because, for me, that was the best part about the 5s. so, they seem a little tighter than the old style.
> i have been running in the 6s for a little over two weeks, but, for some reason, it seems like the shoelaces seem to become loose a lot easier than in other shoes. they don't come untied, but from the mid-point of the shoe up, everything seems to become looser as the run goes on.
> the first day i ran in them- only about 5 miles- they actually skimmed a layer of skin off the top of my foot near my tendon. gotten better since i lave loosened them up a bit, but i think it may be that the tongue is too wide and it is pinching me between the tongue and top lace hole. (maybe?)
so, to sum up: still great shoes, but 5s were better.

The perfect running shoe?

PostedJanuary 15, 2013
I Run: For fun, To set a personal best, To stay in shape
I Use This Product For: Running
After running in the Guide 3 and 4, I tried out another brand shoe, after then picking up an injury I went back to Saucony's Guide 6, and I'm so glad I did. I've only been out a handfull of times but as soon as I covered the 1st mile I new this trainer was 20-30% better than previous Guides. You can really feel the weight loss with the guide 6, it feels light and airy but still maintaining great support across the whole foot, I really feel the benefit to my running gait which is mildly over pronate. This feels really confortable on road and trail, I would highly recommend.

BIG improvement over the Guide 5

Guide 4 was my favorite shoe, until I used the 6. Guide 5 missed on alot of areas...durability...and sizing but the Guide 6 is a big improvement. will be ordering a extra pair of Guide 6 and hope that Saucony will stay on making shoes as great as the Guide 6 and not step back like they did on the Guide 5's...Guide series is the best I have found for running. Thx Saucony.

Great Update

PostedJanuary 1, 2013
I Run: As a social activity, For fun, To set a personal best, To stay in shape

I loved the Guide 5, and the 6 is better. Better toebox fit and better transition from heel to forefoot. Only issue with the 5 was forefoot durability, I wore it smooth at 280 miles so hopefully this update will fix that.
One complaint about the 6: it's rather unattractive. The orange is OK, but the other 3 colors are just so boring. The Ride 5 has some great colors, why no love for Saucony's most popular shoe?

Made for my Feet

PostedNovember 26, 2012

I've always been a Saucony fan, especially of their shoe the Guide. I started off with the Guide 4 a few years ago, and fell in love with it. Last year when Saucony came out with the Guide 5 and was excited and immediately bought a pair. I was super happy to see that they changed the offset from a 12 mm to an 8 mm. For about 250 miles they felt great, but however was pretty disappointed with its durability and traction. With the Guide 6 they stuck with the 8 mm offset and improved upon the previous guide. I'm very satisfied and excited with what they did. I'll continue to buy Guide 6's, 7's, etc. for the rest of my running days.
Being a high school athlete, I run many miles a week sometimes around 70-80 miles. Because of this and other factors I've been fairly prone to injuries, but I am happy to say that I've never gotten injured while running in a Guide, and many times they're the shoes I recover in when I make the mistake of buying another shoe. Go Saucony!

I was fitted for this shoe at a running store in Milwaukee. The Guide 6 provided the stability I needed immediately and corrected the problems I was having with an arch blister on my right foot. Cannot recommend these highly enough.
