USe for fashion, not running

PostedFebruary 5, 2013
I Run: For fun, To stay in shape
I Use This Product For: Casual Wear, Walking
The fabric on top near the front of the toes tends to wear out quickly--at least it did on the previous model with the same look. That's partially the reason I only use these for walking/jeans, not running, and for that purpose they're great. People admire the style! And they're quite comfortable.
For running, though, I tend to get a higher end shoe.

Best minimal shoe for the money

PostedNovember 4, 2012
I Run: To set a personal best, To stay in shape
I Use This Product For: Running
I have been looking for an additional road shoe with a low heel to toe ratio with a bit more cushioning than the one I currently use for long runs as well as recovery runs. I've tried the latest top end shoes in the same category but had to return them because they didn't work out for one reason or another. I stumbled across the Grid Fiya by accident at a local retailer and loved it instantly. I immediately looked it up online and ordered it in black. It has a low heel to toe drop than and provides the perfect balance between cushion and feel for the ground I was looking for. It's also wider than a couple of competitors and feels closer to the ground than the higher end Kinvara. The only drawbacks are some cheaper material around the Saucony logo on the upper and it also weighs a more than similar models at just under 10 oz. for a men's size 9. If Saucony would upgrade the upper material and make this shoe as similar but more expensive models, this would be the best "protective" minimal road shoe out there. As for me, it's the best available option for my rotation with current road shoe and the best road shoe for the money.

Nice Shoes....Cheaper Version Of Kinvara

PostedAugust 4, 2012
I Run: Competitively, To set a personal best
I Use This Product For: Running
These shoes fit and feel similar to the Kinvara 3. The difference between the two is that the Fiya does seem to have the excess fabric in the toe box, like the Kinvara does. This made for a better fit in my opinion. However, the Fiya is clearly made cheaper than the Kinvara as evidenced in the materials on the upper. Good shoe for the price.....probably not for you if you are used to Saucony's upper end shoes.
