I jog where there isn't any sidewalks. These shoes are nicely padded that they take most of the impact. These are wonderful shoes! This s my 2nd time buying this specific shoe.

I have narrow, flat feet so finding a running shoe with any kind of an arch that doesn't hurt my foot is difficult. These shoes are SO Comfortable - like wearing slippers!! I also lace the shoes so I get the "heel lock" which keeps the shoes snug so they don't rub on my heel. Just bought by second pair online. Was easy, fast and the shoes arrived in less than a week. Very happy with the product and service.

I've worn & loved Sauconys for +15 years. I am extremely disappointed with the new Hurricane 14. The 14's have no support & no cushioning. The Hurricane 14 was lowered from 12mm to 8mm & the arch was completely removed. They are horrible. Hurricanes have always had the best support & cushioning of any shoe on the market, why change a shoe that works for so many? I have the Saucony Kinvara minimalist shoe, it's much more comfortable than the 14's. But for walking/jogging I prefer/need shoes with support. I fear Saucony has just forced me & I suspect many others to another brand of shoe!

I love my Saucony!!!

This is the first time I have ordered shoes of any kind from the internet, and I am very happy with my results. Years ago I was fitted in a running store and Saucony was the top recommendation for my foot. My sister worked for Nike and I could've received their top of the line for employee cost, but that didn't matter. Saucony is the best running shoe for me. Plus, I love the new colors! I chose the Black and pink and am so happy - sharp look, great fit, and best performance period. Thanks Saucony!

Okay, but NOT an adequate replacement for Stabil CS-2

I've gone through 4 pairs of Stabil CS-2's in 3 years (I kept wearing a hole through the mesh over my big toes), but I LOVED them! They really corrected my pronation, felt solid, and were comfortable, even at the end of a 13-hour shift at work. Stabil's are not made anymore, and the website said that Hurricane's were a good shoe for pronation. They're ok, so far, but I don't LOVE them. They feel "flimsy-er" than the Stabil's, and don't seem to correct pronation as well. I'm interested to see how I feel about them after 6 months, but as of now, I wish Saucony would start making the Stabil again.

A marathoner, I have been wearing Hurricanes for many years and buy a new pair each month due to high mileage. I loved the 12's but have not been happy with the 13's and 14's. I have gotten shin splints for the first time ever, after 35+ years of running. With that said, I still love Saucony because they provide a good ride and have a large toe box which helps eliminate black nails.

Hurricane Review

PostedJanuary 30, 2013
I Use This Product For: Walking
I have been buying Hurricanes for years and I have always been more than satisfied with the shoes. I have problems with achilles tendonitis and plantar's fasciitis and wear orthotics in my shoes. The Hurricanes provided me with stability. This is the second pair of Hurricane 14 I have bought and I am not as satisfied. A hole was worn in the toe of the shoes in a couple of months and I continued to have problems with foot pain the entire time I wore these shoes. Please go back to the old Hurricane styles. Sometimes new is not improved.

I am so pleased with my shoes I have been moved to post this. I replaced my Asics GT2160s with the Hurricanes purely by random choice in the shop as the Asics were slipping. I have been pleasantly surprised at their fit and feel. They are very light and I feel like a run a lot more easily and faster in them than other shoes I have tried. They really do encourage mid foot striking and a problem with my knee has improved over the last few weeks. I really love these shoes and am so pleased that I gave them a try. Worth every cent and I'm very happy with the improvement in my running.

These are fabulous for running or working out. I buy a half size larger so that my orthotics fit easily. They are stable and support my feet extremely well( I have broken my foot twice in five places). Recommend the Hurricaine's highly!

I have narrow feet with high arch. This shoe is amazing, like walking on clouds. Great support. Have one for taking walks in neighborhood, one for working out at the gym, and the other I keep at work when I can take a break and walk.

My 2nd year with Hurricane.

My first pair of Hurricane 13's gave me the extra support I needed. I felt great at the end of running 13.1 miles. My feet were not fatigued. When I switched to the Kinvara a light weight shoe for neutral runners, I experienced my first sports injury: a shin splint. I'm recovering well from the shin splint injury and running with my Hurricane 14's. I'm pleased with the Hurricane 14's upgrade and new colors.

I was so excited to get professionally fit for these sneakers. They were very stable around the ankles which is perfect because I was recovering from an ankle injury. In less than 3 months, both sneakers wore out near the pinky toe. Holes tore open where my pinky ties were. They no longer are stable enough to run I am so disappointed. I love these but can't afford to buy a new pair every three months.

Womens Hurricane 14

This model Hurricane 14 is very uncomfortable as my heel goes too far down in shoe thereby making the shoe fit too high under the ankle; also having lower back pain after wearing. I have worn Hurricane for years so this new model is a big disappointment.

I'm disappointed as within 2 runs of using these shoes my heel pain returned. I was so happy with the Hurricane 9; my last running shoes and hoped these would be as great. But alas, I am not sure what to do now.

Saucony:
Please do not stop making this model w/ the lower heel drop!!
I have no more chronic calf tightness due to all shoes being made with a heel to high which puts unnatural stress on the calves.
Please do not stop making this option available to loyal saucony customers who like the lower heel drop. Yes the first couple runs I felt it more in my heels-to be exptected- but now I have run calf tightness free for weeks.

Great Stability/Support but wears out around 200 miles

PostedNovember 12, 2012

Overall I really like these shoes. They have great support and helped tremendously with over pronation. These shoes are also great if you have a mid-foot strike since the heal is less chunky than most stability shoes. My only complaint is that both pairs i have purchased (one standard, one pink) both wore holes in the toe box at around 200miles. I run mostly on the road so that might have something to do with the quick wear time.

This was my first online purchase through Saucony.
I have been wearing the women's hurricane for years, purchased in a store specializing in running shoes and was
currious to see if it came in any color other than white. I went
online, found your website, saw it black/purple trim, ordered
it on a Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday. I was thrilled.
I have a hammer toe and find this to be a very comfortable
and durable shoe. I usually walk a minimum of 2 miles per day.

Saucony, I have worn your Hurricanes almost since they didn't even have numbers!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THIS SHOE? They were always great for me, for literally over a decade, but the 14 is HORRIBLE. Plantar fas (which was gone for over 2 years) was back within the first 3 miles, and I even started having knee pain that I've NEVER had! I am distraught....
Hurricanes were always worth every penny, and they were never on sale for a reason: because they WERE the best shoe on the market. Now, I may have to leave Saucony.

I'm a Saucony girl, but what have you done?
Posted November 6, 2012
I have worn Saucony's for most of my 30 years as an avid runner. Why, oh why did you change them? I have the Hurricaine 14 and they just don't feel right! I pronate when I run and these have not been kind to me, I have only been wearing them about one month and have to go today to get another sneaker.. my loyalty may end today???

This is still the best sneaker I can find especially for my wide foot, but I miss the arch support of the Hurricane 13. Please bring that back in next year's model! More color choices in wide width would be great too!
