Best trail shoes

This is my 3rd pair of Saucony ProGrid Peregrines. The first two pairs were the original model, and this recent purchase was my first pair of the Peregrine 2. I absolutely love these trail shoes, and am extremely sad that it looks like they may be discontinued. Please don't discontinue these shoes! I ordered a 4th pair and am thinking about ordering more to stock up.
They fit true to size. I was wearing Asics before and ordered the same size as my Asics.
In the original Peregrine, my only complaint was that my second toe (which is longer than the rest) rubbed because of the pointy toe box, and during a trail marathon, this caused that particular toenail on both feet to fall off. However, the Peregrine 2 has fixed this issue for me, with a more rounded toebox. Otherwise, there's really nothing about these shoes I would change. Lightweight, durable, I love the heavy tread for rocky trails, they are a minimalist shoe but still offer enough support for very long runs. My last pair of these I put over 1000 trail running miles on, and while I don't run in them anymore, I still hike in them and use them for daily shoes. Within that 1000 miles, I used these shoes to run one marathon, two half-marathons, paced a friend during her 100 miler, and several races between the 10k and 10 mile distances.
They are hands down my favorite pair of shoes, ever.

The shoe fits great. I have flat feet and I walk and run 5-6 days a week. I wear an orthotic insole with the shoe. The shoe provides plenty of cushion. Will buy another pair.

This shoe has a strange fit. Too long but way too narrow in toe box. Wore them for three runs and could not walk because of pain in ball of foot. Too bad because it seems to have great traction.

I do a lot of walking, and even though this is a "running" shoe, it is great for walking. Because it is minimalized, it is light weight, but lots of cushioning on the bottom of my foot. It has a slight stretch to the top, also. I am very happy with this shoe.
