This shoe ends shots in the metetarsals

I was having to stop in the middle of marathons and change socks and put different pads in the metarsals to try and deal with the pain in my feet. My podiatrist tried shots to reduce the pain but to no avail. I tried a number of different brands but it didn't make a difference. My running store told me to try a pair of the current Saucony Triumph 9's. What an amazing difference. No extra pads in my socks! No stopping in the middle of a marathon to change socks and pads! No foot pain on long runs! Thank You so much Saucony for relieving the pain in my feet!

Ultimate comfort for bad feet!

Before buying these shoes I had severe pain in my toe. My orthopedic surgeon said I had "preliminary dislocation syndrome" in my second metatarsal and prescribed orthotics which were more painful. I stumbled upon Triumph 9s and finally felt comfortable in shoes!
Four months later and my Truimphs and I are running in a marathon in a week! Thanks Saucony!

Always used the Ride in the past but was not that happy with the Ride 4 for some reason. Figured I would give the Triumph a try and I love it. The 8mm heal drop is great and I love the cushioning of this shoe. Fits true to size and I really like the flat laces. Very comfortable from my first run. I am sold on the Triumph.

Ride 3 was always my favorite shoe but for some reason the ride 4 did not work for me so I decided to try the triumph 9. I wish I had tried them earlier. The 8mm heal drop is fantastic and I really like how the shoe fits. The cushioning in this shoe is great. I can't say enough positive things.

A Cushy, Well Balanced Neutral Trainer

PostedJanuary 21, 2013
I Run: Competitively, To set a personal best, To stay in shape
I Use This Product For: Running
Short and simple: If one pair of Saucony's work for your type of feet/running type, most of their other styles of shoe will work for your feet/running type. I am a neutral runner, slight pronation, and need just a bit of stability. The Triumph serves these needs well and can be easily paired with the Mirage series as well as a pure minimalist shoe to give you a well balanced array of drop. At 8 mm, the Triumph is the shoe I use with the most support and I use it mainly on my long runs/recovery runs. Although it works fantastically as a solo running shoe, I find it to be much more beneficial when paired directly with a minimalist/zero drop style. The Triumph adds a level of cushy support in the heel and a lot of support for slight pronation correction on the sides of the shoe.
However, some blistering can be expected when entering into double digit distances!

Triumph is a great shoe - only minor tweaks needed

I bought my first pair of Saucony Triumph 9s to replace my Asics Nimbus 12s in September, and I’ve put about 200k on them since including a 10k race. I am neutral with medium arch. I prefer them to the Nimbus, mostly because of how my foot lands (they seem very well matched to my gait/strike). Here’s a few points of note:
1. The reduced 8mm slope from heel to toe (vs 12mm on my prior shoe) has changed my strike so that I no longer slap when my foot comes down (happened more when I was tired). I noticed my calves were worked a little after my first run in them, but quickly adjusted. I have not noticed any new pains or anything since changing shoes...only good things! The 8mm slope is perhaps the key plus for me.
2. The laces are well designed and do not come untied easily even on long runs (I've never had to re-tie them).
3. The shoe does not have as much padding as the Nimbus but still feels very comfortable fitting more like a glove (love that).
4. Tread wear is much more rapid than with the Nimbus.
5. The little reflective piece at the bottom of the laces/fabric bunches up when the laces are tightened. I have the medium which I think is the narrowest model. It is only a cosmetic issue, but could be better. I’ve had no issues with blisters etc.
So, only two things I'd improve: tread wear and no bunching up when the laces are pulled tight. I look forward to trying the Triumph 10.

PLUSH Neutral Trainer

As advertised, this is a plush ride with a roomy toebox and solid cushioning in the mid/forefoot as well. Also like the reduced(8mm) heel drop as I am a midfoot striker and dont need/want the huge heel ramp of many cushioned trainers.

I am using this shoe for the last 4 months, mainly during my daily 8.5 km workout on asphalt. I am very satisfied so far, especially due the fact that the shoe is wide enough in front to cope with my foot shape and that the show seems to absorb well and protect my knees (a feeling that I did not have with other brands). It cost me 130 euro in Belgium.

Excellent running shoe and I highly recommend them. I average between 30 - 35 miles per week and the Triumph 9 performs very well. Ordered two pair online directly from Saucony because most shoe stores don't carry the 11.5 wide.

Great shoe but it comes with blisters

I ran in the 8 and 9. The 8 felt very good and also very stable. The 9 felt almost as the 8. Then this shoe came with its drop. No problems with the drop. The calves workt alot more, but after a few miles its was ok.
But...this shoe does not have any memory foam near the heel collar and I got blisters upon blisters. Bring back the memory foam and ill give them a try AND make the strings alot shorter...they are way to long.

Having worn out my Triumph 7's and then Triumph 8's which I loved I ordered a pair of Triumph 9's. Haven't been disappointed, these are just as good if not better than previous models. Can't fault them, highly recommended.

Most comfortable shoe I've ever owned

PostedSeptember 16, 2012

Tried it one the the store along with a host of other shoes but I knew immediately this was the shoe for me. One my first run I ran a PB and the next day my legs still felt fresh. I'm a mid foot striker and the lower heel just makes my stride and impact feel much more natural. If this shoe has decent durability I'll be coming back for sure!

I have purchased 2 pair of the Triumph and while they are comfortable they don't stand up to everyday running. I have had the second pair since July 1 and have only run about 150 miles in them, the tread is almost completely gone. The left shoe is so worn down that the plastic shank is actually showing. While I am a larger runner 6' 3" 215 they should hold up a lot better than this.

I am a football player that weighs 270 lbs, 6 foot 1 and this shoe is just perfect! it's really comfortable. Not flexible but it's good for long distance running. It should be a 5 star but the design is not good...(maybe because I'm 18) I would like the shoe to look like an everyday wear cuz I really wanna wear them on school or just go outside.

Whers's the cushioning?
Posted October 10, 2012
I bought my first pair of woman's Triumph 9 with the 8 mm heal from a local sneaker store. They felt great. They did change my gait, but it felt comfortable. I bought my second pair online from Saucony.com, obviously without trying them on. I don't know what happened, but they seem to have NO cushion at all. I started having low back pain and knee pain, assuming from the gait change. I used to run in Lady Shadow for years. I have always worn Saucony. I don't understand why it feels like there is absolutely no cushioning and the bottoms of my feet actually started to hurt. I am going to check into other brands of sneakers now. I have never been so disappointed in Saucony. And we are talking 30 years!

I purchased these shoes on 7/31/12 and I am already wearing the sole down to the midsole. I have worn other brands in the same manner that have lasted 6 months or more before reaching this same amount of wear on the soles.

Why change?

PostedSeptember 6, 2012
I Run: Competitively

I understand why shoe companies tweak a shoe here or there, they need to keep their product lines intriguing to consumers. For the most part these changes (slightly different styling, new colors, etc.) are rarely noticed.
However, changing a heel-to-toe offset from 12MM to 8MM IS going to be noticed. What I do not understand is why make changes like that to a top-of-the-line shoe like the Triumph? I have been a wearer of the Triumph since the Triumph 6 and I am disappointed to report that my current Triumph 9s will be the last pair of Triumphs I will buy.
I was really hoping these would be the shoes I would be wearing in the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, but unfortunately they will not be.

I have been running on Triumph 8's for a long time, and so I thought I would try the new "9" model. Huge mistake. I have out about 30 miles on these shoes and my knees and lower back are killing me. I would be better off running with cement blocks tied to my feet, because that's what these feel like.
I know this may seem harsh, but I wasted $120 on these shoes and since I ran in them (the only way to know if they are ok for me) I might as well have burned that money because they can't be returned or exchanged.
Do NOT buy this shoe if you're a Triumph 8 user, you'll be disappointed.

I tried a number of shoes on the day I purchase the Triumph 9, but the second I stood up in this shoe I new I had found the shoe for me. Love the light weight of the shoe and it often feels like I am not even wearing shoes. My first run the next day was nothing short of amazing and I felt like I could run for days. Lastly being a Steeler's fan I simply had to choose the black and gold. Thanks for making me live life more active.
