Bought these shoes for work in the summer. I walk all day. Very comfortable. Didn't make it through the entire summer, but i am really tough on shoes. They get wet, muddy they actually held up better than i thought. Very light and comfortable.

New running shoes. Happiness!

PostedSeptember 26, 2012

My second pair of Kinvara's reached the end of their useful life when I inadvertently wore the newer ones rather than the older ones to a foam/mud run!
When I saw these were built on the same foot form as Kinvara, and were about $30 cheaper than Kinvara 2, I figured I'd give them a shot.
So far, so good. They seem to have more cushioning around the ankle than my Kinvaras (which isn't necessarily what I wanted, but I'm getting used to it).
I appreciate the extra traction these provide. I'll probably wear them hiking since I don't have hiking shoes!

I like this shoe for hiking

It is light weight and prevents slipping when hiking. The only issue I've had is that the top of the back of the shoe rubbed my ankle the first time I wore them.

I go running everyday outside and these shoes are great because they keep me from slipping (it's misty weather in the mornings# and they are very lightweight on my feet.
Great traction and very comfortable for my knees.
Feet did feel a little tingling after about 4 miles running in these shoes, #my old shoes didn't), but it did go away and only lasts about 3 minutes.
Calf muscles feel like they are getting a better workout when I wear theses shoes.
Overall great shoe. Very comfy and you are not going to slip very easily when you are wearing these.

best shoe ever

I've been running for quite a few years now and have tried almost every brand of running shoes out there. So far, these shoes have been the best i've ever had. I have not had a shin splint, I can actually go on the elliptical training for 45 minutes with out my feet falling asleep and they just grip so nicely. I use them on the trail and pavement and am going to get another pair soon.

can feel the earth

I love a trail runner that lets me feel the ground and is flexible, a minimalist shoe and this one does it great. I run up a mountain in montana three or four times a week and this shoe has been perfect right out of the box. Zero heel blisters, the heel cup fits the way it should, moving with my feet. The mountain I run up is very rocky and the tread is the best I've ever had, great on steep rocky, slippery terrain.

Like any good shoe, I needed a break in period to get the right fit. If you want to use althletic innersoles you might want to go half size up. I like the shoe now, good value. I have done step aerobics, running, and hiking in them. I notice my knee pain is gone.

Amazing off road light shoe

I ran a 100km off road race in these shoes with only a prior 27km run. They were AWESOME. Besides a relative amount of root slippage, they stayed attached tot he ground when required and supported me through the whole race.
The lightness of the shoe meant with tired legs I didn't have to lift something heavy off the ground. I noted other runners around me slipping on the different terrain but the Peregrine held true. Would 100% recommend these shoes. Being black of course helps with the off road mud nature so they didn't discolour.
I did note however post run that the 'rubber' criss cross pattern is lifting off the cover fabric, but, it was 100km non stop with all sorts of technical decents, assents and terrain so actually they coped very well.

Heel is too wide

PostedMarch 13, 2012
I Run: To train for another sport, To stay in shape

I ordered these shoes because most of the reviews said they had a narrow heel. They do not, they have a wide heel and normal toe box. I love to trail run, and have very narrow heels and wide toes. These shoes my heels swim in.
If you have feet like mine, I would not recommend these shoes. However if you do not have narrow heels, these shoes are comfortable and feel kinda like slippers when running.

Good shoes, if you have the right shape foot...

PostedNovember 5, 2011

I was ecstatic to find these shoes. I had ordered a pair of the Grid Type A4, which I loved everything about but how quickly they wore out. I bought the ProGrid Peregrine because by the write-ups I thought they would be the same shoes except for the thicker sole and heavier material due to trails. Unfortunately, they do not fit anything like the Type A4. That shoe was like it was made for my foot. This one is too wide in the forefoot, and I have a wide foot. The part that cuts under the ankle bone is also too high. I wear orthotics so my heel is slightly raised anyway, but it cut into the ankle bone. My one run was not comfortable. I had to stop twice to try different ways to tie the shoes to make it better. By the end of the six mile run my left foot was hurting. Also, after only six miles, there was noticeable wear on the sole, which means ti will probably not wear much better than the Type A4. For someone with the right foot shape, it would probably be a good shoes, but not for mine. I would return them, but my dog ate the box.

Perfect Trail Runner

PostedAugust 14, 2011
I Use This Product For: Running, Racing
I absolutely love this shoe. This is coming from someone who has tried many different recommendations because of problems with my feet. I think this shoe was made with me in mind. I was looking for something in between a traditional trail runner and a minimalist shoe. The Peregrine is lightweight but great on the most technical of trails. I hope they never change this one as it's perfect just the way it is and ready for the longest run right out of the box.

I practice chi running and my local running store recommended these for the trails. I mostly run single track and forest roads and these are lightweight and responsive. I love them so much I bought a second pair to rotate. Especially love the low heel.

I've only had these shoes for a short time, but I've been extremely impressed with their performance so far. The trails that I run on a regular basis are VERY technical and these shoes handle the terrain with absolutely no problem. I HIGHLY recommend the Saucony Peregrines!!

Great shoe for trail running!

PostedJuly 9, 2011

I run rocky hilly trails in the woods and these shoes are perfect for that. I'm not really a running shoe kinda gal, but as I've gotten more into it, I really needed an official trail running shoe as opposed to a fashion sneaker.
These fellas didn't require any breaking-in time. They are super grippy & I never slip in them, and my knees are thanking me for the upgrade!
Also from a fashion perspective, they look pretty sick.

Good purchase

I needed a shoe that would handle well on rocky, uneven trails and that would grip well on a variety of surfaces. As another review said, this shoe feels broken in from the start and has absolutely no stiffness. I ran 6 miles the day I bought them and they felt great. They're light, low to the ground, grip well, and no slipping. The only possible negative is that the foot bed feels hotter during running than my other shoes, but not enough to not recommend the shoe to others.

weird shape

These don't fit. The length of the shoe's footbed is as long as the length of my foot, but unfortunately the longest part of my foot is at my big toe and the second inside toe. The longest part of this shoe is in the middle section of the toes. So if I wear these, I'll definitely get a blister, and maybe if I'm real lucky I could develop bunions too! These shoes are great if your foot forms into a nearly symmetrical point around the middle toe.
