I love the purple color and the shine of the purple trim. I'm still getting use to the green laces but they are trendy. I laughed when I saw the messages on the bottoms of the shoes for the people behind me in the races. The shoes are light weight, good cushion in the sole, a great roll and support when I walk. Comfortable arch for my average arch feet. The mesh area over the top of the toes lets a breeze in but I got used to it.They do run a full size small in length but they are roomy and comfy wide in the toe area. They're very flexible shoes and kind of feel like I'm just wearing socks with soles.

I bought these simply because I like the brand and liked how they look. Overall they are a nice shoe. My one complaint is that they leak from the bottom. Not sure if this is just my pair or a design flaw.. stepped in a puddle that was unavoidable and my feet came out wet... now I know if there is a chance of rain were my others.

I LOVE Saucony Fastwitch 4s! I had three pair of those ugly green shoes, but they were the BEST! I kept buying them online until I couldn't find them anymore because I was so afraid to buy these (because of all the bad reviews).
I tried Kinvaras, and I ran in them three times with horrible knee pain (never had it before). I took them back and decided to try these! I am SO GLAD I did!! While they are a little heavier than the 4s, they are a GREAT shoe! Aside from having to break in a new pair of shoes, I have transitioned into these really easily! I wish I had done it sooner as this version has better color options (although not the pink I want).
I do have high arches and underpronate, and I run four miles about five times a week!

it's my second pair of Saucony. I had the Kinvara 2 and used to be an Asics girl but I won't buy them anymore. The Fastwitch is light, responsive, very comfy and get me a GREAT workout. tip: buy a FULL SIZE bigger than your regular size. I wear a 7 for regular shoes. 7.5 /8 for running shoes and bought the Fastwitch in a 8.5 after experiencing some minor toe injury on marathon training with a size 8. Our feet change overtime amount of running, normal aging process...) so you have to adapt, and not blame the shoe:)

I've been wearing the Fastwitch as my primary racing shoe for years. This version is by far the worst. The heal seems to be a bit lower, which is not a good thing for my running style. The materials used are even different, so when I tie the laces, the shoe is not as comfortable, nor does it feel as breathable. Yes, the shoe is more flashy, but definitely not worth the other changes. I'm hoping the Fastwitch 6 will be more like the 4. Please! Luckily I was able to find a pair of the Fastwitch 4 on Amazon to get me through my next marathon....

I loved my Fastwitch 4's, and told all my running friends that they had to tryout a pair. Despite the poor reviews, I was excited to try the 5's and liked the color selection. I thought, how different could the shoes actually be? I was soooo disappointed when my new shoes arrived and they were nothing like my favorite 4's. I keep searching ebay for a pair of fastwitch 4's in my size, and have saved my old pair of 4's to wear just for races. I gave away the 5's I bought to a friend. Saucony, please bring back my favorite shoe!!

If you order, they are great shoes, just be sure to order a half size bigger that what you normally wear in Saucony brand shoes. Just sent my for return today. Waiting for my account to be credited so that I can reorder in my correct size!

One of the most disappointing updates. It's not a bad shoe, but it's way too different from the Fastwitch 4, which I've run many half and full marathons in and absolutely love. I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement yet, just temporarily settled on the Pure collection. Please bring back the 4!

I did not like them at all. As soon as I went running I wanted them off my feet. They made my feet and legs feel oddly heavy. And they hurt my arches. I would not recommend them. I love sauconys however I will not get kind again.

this is a good shoe but I miss those ugly green machines! Those were a great shoe. I have switched so many shoes as the shoe companies just don't seem to get it. 1st shoe was Nike, then Brooks, this one was the hands down best. Don't change the model, just make a new shoe and call it something else. Keep the models that work. Bring back the green machines, just offer a pretty pink and blue color. I think I will try your A-4 maybe it resembles the green machine more.

I've been running in the Saucony Ride for 5 years, switching to the Fastwich made me nervous, but I've had them for about 2 weeks and I love them! They got comfy after only about 10 miles of running. They are super light and I get compliments on how nice they look.

I love Saucony, and I love the Fastwitch 3 and 4. I purchased the 5's thinking they would be just a new color, but they are heavier, less flexible and not nearly as comfortable as versions 3 and 4. I returned them after a day, and found the 4's on Amazon.
In all fairness, the 3 and 4 were my most favorite running shoe of all time. I've yet to find one that matches, with exception of the Mizuno Wave Rider versions 1-10.
Saucony, can you please do the next version similar to the 3 and 4? Please??

I had the same problem. I loved the 3 an 4 but I really don't like the 5. It was far away my favorite running shoes ever as well. I am working in a running specialize shop and I found that the new ds-racer with asics has a fit looking as the old fastwitch! Try it on, who knows:)!

I purchased the Pure Grit (Brooks) for trails and the Pure Connect (Brooks) road. I think the Kinvara is an excellent alternative. :-) I LOVE Saucony, and would love to see a lighter/more flexible shoe with a wide toe box in the future.

I loved the 4's too, very comfortable light shoe, could run long distances with no issues. Debating on the 5's, don't really like the purple or white (loved the neon green 4's). Not so sure now. What did you choose instead??

Fastwitch 4, I miss you so! The updated model is heavier, stiff, and runs 1/4 size smaller. Please Saucony make the fastwitch 6 a replica of the fastwitch 4 and I will stock up for a lifetime. I've had to buy the 4 online from overstock. IT was a great shoe, ran 2 marathons in them and did amazing, i dread wearing the 5's because they just cant compare.

Cute shoes. I typically love Saucony. They are the only shoes that do not give me immediate blisters. Thought these would be the same but they are not a supportive shoe for running.

I was so excited that I found these shoes. They're bright, they're brilliant, and they have the over-pronation support that I need in a running shoe. Having purchased Saucony Hurricanes in the past, I was confident that the size I ordered would work as well. My local running store have always told me that women should order their running shoes 1.5 sizes bigger than your normal shoe size. It worked beautifully with my other saucony shoes, so it should work with these too, right?
Wrong.
These shoes are VERY small. I read some reviews that said as much, but I figured that a size and a half bigger would be enough cushion for any discrepancy in size. This shoe will not work for running, at all, unless I got at LEAST a 9.5 or even a 10.
Let me give you a real-life example. When I put on the shoes, I thought "Huh...these are small." Not normal shoe small, just running shoe small. Curious, I went and grabbed some old Nike's that I had purchased and had been a DISASTER to run in because, notoriously, Nike's run small. These Saucony shoes, in a size 9, are equivalent to a size 8 in Nike's.
I've decided to keep them simply because they're adorable and decided to use them for everything BUT running and went out to purchase a new pair of running shoes from a local running store.
Runners, use extreme caution when purchasing these shoes. I HIGHLY recommend you go to a store and try them on first in order to determine your accurate size.

I have always run in Saucony shoes but the Fastwitch 5 is the best shoe that I have tried. I had a pair of the 4's when they were out and they were also a very good shoe, but not as good as the 5's. The 5's have more structure than the 4's had. In all the time that I have used the 5's they have been fast, durable, and comfortable. I just ordered my second pair of them and I would highly recomend them for anyone who runs, enjoys working out, or just wants a shoe that is comfortable to wear around.

What a disappointment! I found my perfect running / racing shoe in the Fastwitch 4 -- PR'd at every distance in that light, fast, flexible shoe -- and then Saucony changed the design in this latest version and produced a completely different shoe. I find the Fastwitch 5 to be stiff, cramped in the toe box, and just too small overall, even in a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. I've combed the internet for the Fastwitch 4 and have resorted to ordering them from overseas! Looks like I'll have to find a new perfect pair of running / racing shoes...

the 4s were my favorite racing shoe! i ran in them from 5k to ironman and they performed equally well across the board. i feel like this is a completely different shoe. toe box is too wide, sole too stiff, not a snug fit like the old ones. i guess i'll keep them, but i'm really disappointed and may try another brand. it's a shame because i've been a staunch saucony customer, but i don't want to spend $100 on something i can't really even wear:( please bring back what was so great about the 4s!

i never ran in this shoe before the current version, so i can't comment on what some of the other reviewers have said in relation to the old models. however, i can say i'm very happy with the Fastwitch as a racing flat from everything from the 10k on up to a marathon. This shoe has a little more meat to it than the Type A, but it's still not a weighty shoe at all in my opinion. i also have a narrow foot, so i love the feel of the toe box. i will keep the Type A handy for shorter 5k races, but the Fastwitch is my new go-to for everthing else.
