I run in college and I use this shoe for my indoor track workouts. It is a very fast shoe. Light weight which is very important compared to a regular trainer. Great deal too! Buy ASAP!

thouroughly wonderful shoe

PostedNovember 30, 2012
I Run: Competitively, For fun
I Use This Product For: Running
This shoe is one of my favorite shoes and I find it is exceptional regardless of whether it is training or racing. It feels like flying! I find it also handles shorter and marathon distances equally well. A lot of other shoes I start to feel my calf's cramp. This never happens with the Saucony type A4s.
Even though it is not a tri-specific shoe, I find it is very easy to - both - get into quickly and run without socks - very comfortable.
The only negative (a very small one) is that I found the shoe a little on the narrow side until very well broken in; but, in truth it probably has more to do with my triple e width than the shoes.
I will buy these shoes until they top making them

Best non-spke training flat yet

PostedSeptember 27, 2012
I Run: Competitively
I Use This Product For: Running, Racing
Very light (5.5 oz) yet firm. Handles dry curves just fine at any speed. Soft ride but not squishy. Low heel great for us 200/400 guys. I train for national and international meets in these and always take them with me when I travel to a meet.
Since nobody should run all out several days a week in workouts, this is particularly good in tempo runs of 100 meters and up. Anything below 100 i put on the spikes.
Only two concerns: My biggest concern is that they'll stop making it and offer only the new model. I really like this one. The only technical concern is that it is not qutie as good on wet curves as some of my other (heavier) shoes, but I stil wear them on rainy days.

This shoe is so comfortable and light that running in it feel completely natural. Fast times are sure to come from this racing shoe. Incredibly flashy as well. Would also make a great triathlon racing show. Perfect fit without socks and nice drainage system and quick on heel loop. Looking forward to a mighty PR and strong race at US 5k champs this weekend. Saucony did good with this shoe

The Bearable Liteness of Footwear

I use white Saucony shoes primarily during the hot summer months. These are the litest shoes I've every owned for street, beach, and woods. Just owned them a week so cannot report on the durability, so rated that in the middle range.
Fits a tad tite @ 1st, but stretched out over the first few days of wear. Probably will need to stick to thin sox or removed the lining to make it work thicker sox.

Great for Tri

I have been running in the Kinavaras for two years and love them. When I saw these shoes were slightly lighter and flatter I had to give them a try. They are a true flat and do need some getting used to. Don't go and run 13 miles in these the first day if you have not been running in zero drops previously. I love these on the track and putting on the miles on the road. I do use these for long training runs and have not had any issues. The holes in the bottoms are rock collectors so know the course before you decide to run in these. If there are some sections with gravel they will find their way into the bottom of these shoes. I also love the elastic tongue that keeps the shoes shape. I have run without laces because I do like a looser fit and the tongue allows that. I am not sure about the durability over long hard miles but you cannot put a price on performance. If they don't last, well I guess I will have to get another pair. LOVE THEM

Light and comfortable shoe I have racewalked distances from 3K to 40K

I now have accumulated six pairs. I alternate them, and a few are about ready to toss. They are light and comfortable. I have a large bunion on one foot, and the mesh top accommodates it. My normal size is 11 1/2, but I need 12 in this style. The shoe wears about average; I have found that some of the "nubbins" which form the sole do come off upon occasion.

Hands down best shoes Ill ever own.
And they have the quote "Get Some" on the bottom...which is also awesome

Awesome and Comfortable Racing Flat

PostedDecember 11, 2011
I Run: Competitively, To set a personal best, For fun
I Use This Product For: Racing
This is probably my favorite racing flat out there. I have been racing for 4 years and this shoe has just been the most comfortable, durable, and best looking shoe for me. It provides support that the Kilkenny's do not provide in my opinion. Overall just a great shoe. However, if you are running in alot of mud it does come up through the bottom of your shoe just a little bit. It is nothing to worry about though.

Workouts and Races, Great Shoe

PostedNovember 22, 2011

I am a somewhat minimalist runner. While the Kinvara is my mileage shoe, in the off season I will do some distance runs in these, but mostly I use them for any kind of speed workout. The little black rubber things come off first, but it took a surprisingly long time for that to happen. I thought they would just sort of chip off, especially running down hill, but they hold up pretty well. I don't really have any complaints with this shoe. I don't do too many road races, but my coach does and uses them and has a good time wearing them. I just wish Saucony took the color schemes of the Kinvara and applied them here.

great road racing flat and all purpose shoe

Ive tried just about every shoe out there. If you have run in minimal shoes jump right into this take off. If you run a lot of road races, this shoe is great for that.
If your just starting the sport of running build your milage up in these shoes before you do any long runs, but get them, they are worth it. if you have a lot of milage under your belt, try these shoes, you will love them

Super Shoe!

I've run 173 miles in these in a little less than a year. I've used them for everything from a 5k race to a 24 mile long run. They are a great any run shoe for someone fully transitioned to minimal running shoes. If you aren't use them for short runs and build up gradually.
Mine have held up great. They look like any white shoe that has gone through what mine have, that is to say I'm proud of their beat up appearance. I need to grab another pair lest Saucony tries to improve this wonderful design.

Great minimalist shoe

Promotes midfoot/forefoot strike. Light weight is helpfull for quick leg turnover. I am now using on all my runs, from track workouts to long runs. It took some time to transition from a more supportive shoe, but was worth the time investment. Look out for small stones getting stuck in the vents on the sole. Not suitable for trail running.
Elastic material in toe box creates a really comfortable fit. It was difficult to select any other shoe after trying on the A4 in the shop.
Small tear in material after 6 months, so going to buy another pair. For my trail runs I will look for something as close as possible, but with more protection in the sole.

Great for track/road

Excellent, lightweight shoe. Easily my favourite for long sessions on the track (when not wearing spikes). Wouldn't recommend them off-road 'though: they gather everything through the ventilation holes (gravel, sticks, &c.) and the gravel easily pierces through to the heel. A bit surprising, because I'm a forefoot striker.
Anyway, fantastic shoe that I highly recommend. Just be wary of the surfaces on which you use it.

I was going to buy the Kilkennys but i decided to buy these instead. Which is one of the biggest mistakes of my life. The only thing I actually do like about these shoes is that they're comfortable. Oh and they tear easily... so it's not worth the 95$.

All-around Great Shoe

PostedJuly 30, 2011
I Run: Competitively, For fun, To stay in shape
I Use This Product For: Running, Racing
First thing you notice when you put this shoe on is the unbeatable ventilation. That combined with the extremely low weight and it almost feels like you are wearing no shoe at all. They have amazing stability. I have used them on and off roads with no problems. The holes on the bottom allow for quick drainage if you do step in water.
The only two negative things I can say about the shoe is those same holes that are great for drainage love to gather rocks. Second the adhesive holding the rubber and fabric on the bottom of the A4s gives out a little quicker than I would like (around the 4-5 month mark). I can't say this will be true for everyone else as I am very hard on my shoes.
Dispite those two small negatives I have run in a pair of Type A3s and two pairs of Type A4s and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great running/racing shoe. I will definitely continue to use them myself.
Thanks for another great shoe Saucony!
